Safety Equipment

Our Club’s safety equipment at Larch Hills includes an emergency response snowmobile and tow trailer located at the back of Chalet and other snowmobiles located at the Tracksetter storage building. A cabinet located in the basement of the Chalet between the two washroom doors holds a trauma bag, splints, blankets and bandages. See the instructions here for how to access it. Adjacent to the cabinet is a SKED for snowshoe trail response and a spine board. There are also four pairs of snowshoes and a full body splint in the locked storage room. A First Aid Kit and AED are located on the Chalet’s main floor.

Three emergency response marked tote boxes are located with three manual rescue toboggans located at South Hub, Metford/Bilbos and Cec’s Cabin. These totes boxes contain a small backpack, sleeping bags and limited first aid supplies.

Safety buckets containing first aid supplies are located at Lakeview/Sentinel, Moonwalk/Far East, and the Summit Trail below Summit Shortcut. The locations of each of these emergency response caches are marked on our maps which are available on our Maps page.
