Lantern Ski

December 28th, 2024 is happening.

Mark your calendars for December 28th from 5PM to 8:30PM. Volunteer, or ski this magical route (Choose from 1KM, 5KM or 6KM) across bogs and track-set trails lit by the gentle glow of kerosene lanterns.

Due to warmer temperatures this year the bogs have some open water and will be avoided.  We are still offering the 1 KM and a 5KM route.  Maps are posted at the registration table.

  • Entry to the event will be by donation.
  • The Salmon Arm Food Banks can always use our help. 50% of event net proceeds will be donated to the Food Bank.
  • Bring a mug for hot chocolate in the Chalet afterwards, and some Christmas baking to share.
  • The lights for the lit trails will be turned on at 9PM if you would like to go for a ski under our big new lights!

If you are a LHNS member and would like to volunteer for this event, please email Kerry Miller: millerk@millerinc.ca

Snowshoers: Please keep to designated snowshoe trails. The snowshoe trails are not lit; and you will need to use your own headlamps. Please avoid groomed ski trails except for crossing them or in emergencies.

THANK YOU! A huge thank you to Matt Melin (Access Precision Machining Ltd.) for the donation of the kerosene for our lanterns! And Miller & Associates along with Toliver Design Inc. for the donation of 18 brand new lanterns!
