Larch Hills eNews –  Season Winding Down, Grant Awarded, Lost & Found Items

Season is Winding Down

Thank You to all of our wonderful Volunteers and Members!!

The trails are still open,  there is still lots of snow on the hill and skiers are reporting decent spring conditions.

The grooming season has officially ended,  We thank our tracksetters and extra gang crew for providing excellent conditions throughout the season.  Thank you to the volunteers who assisted with clearing downed trees when necessary.

Thank you to members who assisted with the Ski School Program, the Safety Hosts, various committees and any other task that was performed behind the scenes.

Thank you to all that frequented the trails, rose to the challenge of COVID guidelines and contributed to keep Larch Hills open.   2020-21 was a great season.

Remember that there may be summer volunteering opportunities.  Announcements will be made through e-news.

Larch Hills Nordic Society Lighting

Project

Thank you again to everyone who has supported the Lighting Project to date.  With the hard work of the Lighting Committee and the commitment of our members we have some great news.

The Government of BC, Community Gaming Grant Branch has awarded Larch Hills Nordic Society:

“Thank you for your application for a B.C. Community Gaming Capital Project Grant. Your efforts to create a legacy that will benefit British Columbia’s communities are greatly appreciated.

I am pleased to inform you that your request for funding has been approved and your organization has been awarded $170,000 in funding for the Larch Hills Nordic Society Trail Lighting Project.”

This will allow for the construction of Phase 1 and Phase 2 to begin.  The groundbreaking for this project is planned for this summer.

Lost and Found Items
There are a few items in the Lost and Found.  Please take a look at the pictures provided and see if you can find that item you have been looking all over for.  The Chalet will be open now through the Easter Weekend for you to come and retrieve any item that belongs to you.  There are 3 sets of gloves positioned around the work boot.  All other gloves and mitts are singles.
