RE: THANK YOU
On behalf of the students of School District No. 83 we would like to thank you for organizing a fantastic event for our District Students. The annual Pirate Loppet is one of the year’s highlights, with 500 students participating. The organization was once again outstanding, supported by so many wonderful community volunteers. Again, and again we heard from our schools that the event was positive, joyful and a tremendous experience for our students whether they were skilled Larch Hills Ski team members or novice skiers.
We’d also like to recognize and express our appreciation for the many SD83 staff that supported the event in partnership with your organization. We appreciate how you continue to work with our school teams to create a great opportunity for our students.
Our district is committed to providing its students with healthy and active programs and experiences. Cross-country skiing is one of the experiences that many of the schools have embraced. As you are aware several classes within the district are involved in the Cross-Country Ski Program that provides students with the opportunity to experience cross country skiing under the guidance of your team of experienced skiers. Your hard work, time and volunteerism makes it possible for even more of our students to participate and makes our community a better place.
The Pirate Loppet committee has been a great community partner and we appreciate all you do for the students of our district. Your efforts support nearly 500 children from various schools participating in cross country ski programs.
Your support is making a difference for our students; giving them the opportunity to experience and explore the outdoors and have the chance to participate in a lifelong healthy sport such as cross-country skiing.
Thank you – you are truly making a difference for our students and our community and we are very appreciative.
Sincerely,
Amanda Krebs Board Chairperson

Igloos as a destination! Two brave souls slept overnight in the wonderful igloos. Here is a photo of some fun prior to bedding down:
I’ve attached a photo from our chilly night spent in the igloo! This is a 30 second exposure, the light behind is me running and waving a flashlight around. Thanks to those who built the igloos, although it wasn’t the most comfortable night, it was an awesome experience!
