2024 03.19: Hard Days Night, CCBC Fundraiser, Congrats Natalie Wilkie, Learning to Train Survey

Hard Day’s Night

The inaugural Hard Days Night Backyard Ski Challenge was a Great Success!  
Ski an 8.4km loop every hour for 24 hours!
Fun was had by all! 

12 Skiers started out at 10 am and 3 completed all 24 laps for a total of 201.6 km. 

Congratulations to Konrad, Abbi and Sheila.

Other successful skiers were:  Laura completing  8 laps for 151 km; Jeremy, Talyer and Alan 12 laps for 100.8 km; Phil 9 laps for 75.6 km; James and Andrea, our out of towners, 8 laps for 67.2 km and Kerry and Sarah 4 laps for 33.6 km.

CCBC Club Fundraiser
Second chance for additional Bonus $$$

$2,000 is up for grabs for the club that raises the most donations from now to March 31.

 

NEW donations (of at least $50) between now and the end of March.  (Fine print:  must be unique donors, i.e., 1 person can’t just make 10 separate donations.  In case of a tie, the $ will be split.)   

We currently have 10 donations that qualify.
 

Thank you to everyone who have donated so generously again.  We have now raised $31,455  in donations and have received $2000 in bonus funds from Cross Country BC.

Para Nordic World Cup Finals and World Para Biathlon Championships were a Record Breaking Success.

Natalie Wilkie comes away with another 5 medals

 

Natalie earned a gold medal in the Women’s 7.5 km para biathlon and a bronze in the 12.5 km event at the World Para Biathlon Championships. Then she went on two earn a silver in the 5 km and a bronze in both the Sprint and the 20 km in the cross country World Cup Finals.

Learning to Train Survey

The LHNS would like to host the Learning to Train courses for this coming season. If you have your Community Coaching certification and would like to continue by taking the L2T course please fill out this very short survey to help with planning. The Learning to Train course is required to coach at the Ski Team level.
