Rob Nash COL Reception
Special request for Larch Hills Members:
If you would like to stay after the service to mingle and eat together, please read below.
There is often food after a service, and so in the spirit of so many ski team weekends, we’re having a potluck for the reception that follows. Heather would love for it to be at her house, because Rob loved their property so much, but if it’s very rainy, at the last minute we have the option to mingle and eat right there in the Gathering Place. So, a plan has been formed to create a somewhat organized potluck. Other groups (Heather’s soccer team, both of her work places, etc.) are bringing desserts, fruit platters and veggie platters, and so we’re asking the ski team members who would like to attend to bring the following items:
Buns or breads
Cold roast chicken or beef, ham, pulled pork, or coldcuts
Anything that you might put on a sandwich.
Any of the ski team kids that are coming could bring chips or snacks (and a bowl for the chips if necessary)
Just so that we don’t end up with a gazillion buns, 50 bottles of mustard and not enough meat, perhaps if everyone were to bring some meat, a dozen buns, and something else on this list, that would be great.
Paper plates , plastic cups and cutlery will be provided, but if you’d like to eat off a normal plate or use a real mug, please bring one with you.
We have no idea how many people will remain to eat, but there could be a few hundred, so feel free to err on the side of bringing too much food. Heather would like to make sure everyone has enough to eat.
Nothing should be hot, since we’re not sure if we’re eating at the Gathering Place or at her house. So all of the meats should be cold and sliced to be ready to put into a sandwich.
So, food items should remain in your vehicle in a cooler, and then Heather’s sister will tell us at the end of the service whether or not to bring the food out to be shared right there, or whether we should take it to Rob and Heather’s house.
Coffee, hot water for tea, lemonade, ice tea and cold drinks will be provided.
Also, in case we do go to Heather’s house, please throw a lawn chair into your car, as well as some warm clothes in case we’re outside and please feel free to bring your own beer, since Rob loved all of those cool, craft beers and would be happy to see everyone enjoying a cold one! (No, really!)
