Meat sale fundraiser
BBQ season is here and the skiers going to Nationals are doing a meat sales fundraiser through Penguin meats. Please see attached poster and order form for details. $10-$20 per box of meat ordered goes to the skiers. Several of us have purchased this meat before from hockey families and it is good quality and very convenient to have on hand in the freezer. Please submit your orders to Debbie Phillips email@example.com by June 14th and submit payment with your order. Cheques made out to Debbie Phillips. Meat will arrive on June 28th and can be picked up at the Phillips/Bates house, 5690 Lakeshore Road NE.
Thanks to all who have hired out the skiers for yard work over the last month. They have been kept very busy and have been putting a lot of money in the Nationals trip account. If you still need yard work done, we are now booking into the second weekend in June. Contact Abbi firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to hire some hard working kids to do some work around your home.
Funding Support Acknowledgement
The Larch Hills Junior ski team would like to acknowledge Cross Country Canada and the Women’s Committee for their support in funding our head coach, Abbi May to attend the Learning to Compete On-snow level coaching course this past month in Whistler. Three Larch Hills coaches attended this 4 day long course where they learned advanced coaching skills including technique adaptations for speed and efficiency, race strategy and tactical skills and protocols for monitoring training and recovery. Athletes in the juvenile and older categories have already begun a new training season and the coaches are working to apply their newly acquired knowledge to this coming year’s program.
