As most of you know, the road conditions to Larch Hills have deteriorated in the past few weeks. This happens every season and is an ongoing concern. The Larch Hills Nordic Society has written letters to Greg Kyllo – MLA Shuswap, the Ministry or Transportation and Infrastructure and AIM Roads Maintenance Company.
It would be helpful for members to send a letter to Greg Kyllo voicing their concerns as well.

Larch Hills Nordic Society Junior Ski Team Intramural Program
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic and lack of any competition for the Larch Hills Junior Ski Team, a few coaches hatched a plan to create an intramural program.
The team is already divided into five categories – U10, U12, U14, U16-18+ and Development. From those groups, intramural “teams” were made consisting of skiers from all age categories, although those teams never get together physically due to Covid restrictions and protocols. Skiers got to know their teammates online through an assigned team captain.
Special intramural events run every other Saturday with each age group’s coaches taking a turn to plan something different. There are small prizes or medals given to skiers at the end of some of the events.
The intramural events include; the Candy Cane Dash (classic time trial), ski orienteering, a loppet, an Enduro style downhill, a skiathlon and sprint races. So far this has been a very fun program for the Larch Hills Junior Ski team. The coaches have done an amazing job of creating a fun, friendly competitive atmosphere despite the restrictions this season!
Ladies take on 100K in one day Congratulations to Zara Bucher, Samantha Vukadinovic and Isabelle Wilkie
These young ladies decided to test their abilities with an endurance challenge for themselves. 100 Kilometers skied in one day. They began at day break and completed the task in 11 hours. The total hours of actual ski time was 8.
Their commitment to do this was admirable and many congratulations go out to them for their success.
Their success was very inspirational. Another group of three were so impressed, they agreed to challenge themselves to complete the next 100K. Congrats also to Sheila Corbett, Laura Hepburn and Abbigail May
Anyone else up to the challenge before the end of season???
