Larch Hills eNews – Registration and Nominations Needed for Trail Lighting Funding (by Sept 22nd)
Larch Hills Nordic Society is beginning to plan and raise funds for Trail Lighting at Larch Hills.
Information about the project is available on the LHNS website. This project will be expensive, and fundraising is critical so we have entered this project into a community competition called KRAFT HEINZ PROJECT PLAY. The winner will receive $250,000 for a community project and the next three communities will each receive $25,000 towards their projects.
If you are having trouble following the direct link, the website is www.kraftheinzprojectplay.com. Under the heading “Find My Facility†enter the province as B.C. and the project as “Larch Hills Nordic Society Trail Lighting Projectâ€. Once you have found the Community Rally page you will be able to register and submit your nomination. You will be asked to fill in a short questionnaire and you will be able to post photos and videos. The finalists for this competition will be chosen by judges who will evaluate the submitted nominations, photos, and videos as well as “likes†and “shares†on Social Media.
We are hoping that many community members will participate. Spread the word! This is a great opportunity to showcase our incredible organization and community. The deadline for submitting nominations is September 22nd. After that four communities will be selected and there will be a voting process to determine the winner. If enough people submit nominations, we do have a chance!! In 2016 Nakkertok Nordic Ski Club in Ontario won this contest and used the money to install snowmaking equipment.
Larch Hills Nordic Society Registration for 2019-2020
Registration for Larch Hills opens on October 1. All ski team members and volunteers must be registered by October 15.
All members: your registration expires October 15 every year. Please pay BEFORE you start skiing. It is wonderful that we can provide this opportunity without the need for ski passes. However, it would be nice to know that everyone skiing on the hill has paid in advance!
There is an incentive to register before December 8, 2019. After that date, rates will increase by $15 for a single adult; by $30 for a family; by $10 per individual youth/student skiing and individual snowshoeing; and by $20 for family snowshoeing
Early Bird draws will take place on November 15, November 30 and December 9
