Larch Hills eNews – Holiday Concert, Santa Cruise, Volunteers needed Hosts/Signage, Membership Final Draw
Holiday Concert Reminder Dec 20 – Doors Open 6:30 pm Please join us this Friday, December 20 at the Nexus at First as we celebrate the holiday season! ‘Doors open at 6:30 and concert will run from 7 – 9:30pm. Dessert and refreshments will be provided. We have a full line-up of talented performers! Admission is by donation and funds raised will be directed to the Trail Lighting Project. Please share this information with anyone who would enjoy a great evening of entertainment.
Mark your calendars for the Santa Cruz fun ski which takes place at Larch Hills at 10am this Sunday, December 22nd. Come out to ski with Santa in your favourite Christmas costume. Following the ski with Santa, there will be snacks and drinks in the Chalet. There will also be a live auction with all proceeds going to the local food banks.
If you have items to donate please drop off at the chalet office with Karen – Friday or Saturday 9am – 3 pm or bring them with you on Sunday. We will also appreciate any cookies or other treats that you would like to contribute.
John Henderson is looking for more volunteers to cover the holiday season. You will be the official Trail Greeters welcoming folks to the hill. If you can help out for a few hours between December 21 and January 5, please contact John at 250-832-4127
Loppet Signage
Peter Fryzuk is looking for someone to take over ‘signage’ for the Loppet. Duties include taking the snowmobile to set out the ‘km’ markers a week before Jan 25, additional signage (with a team) Jan 24 and then picking them all back up and storing them in the bunker Jan 26. School Program Hosts
Folks are needed to help out with the School Program. Monday – Friday 10 am for the month of January. Dates are: January 9,10,13-17,20-23 and 27,28. Antje is looking for 1-2 more people for each of those days. Need to be on the hill for 10 am. If you would like to help out please email Antje Breugem antjebreugem2@gmail.com
Sit Ski Storage Needed Looking for Volunteer(s)
The Larch Hills Nordic Society now has a collection of sit skis. There are also a few youth members that are now using those sit skis on a regular basis thanks to an incredible amount of work Donna Flatman has dedicated to this program.
We are looking for a volunteer who could build a storage cabinet outside the basement of the chalet for the sit skis to be safely stored. The cost of supplies would be covered, and we are looking for a Larch Hills volunteer to do the construction.
