Trail Access Changes During BC Cup #1, January 4th and 5th.
Although the vast majority of the Larch Hills trail network will be open at all times, please note that there will be some trail closures during the race time periods of the BC Cup race being held January 4th (9am until 3:30pm) and January 5th(9am until noon). In addition, it is requested that dogs be kept off of the dog trails during these time periods as the trails will be busy with skiers testing wax and warming up for their races. Maps of the trail access changes will be posted on the bulletin board in the stadium. You can also find them on-line at skilarchhills.ca/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Sprint-Public-Access.pdf for Saturday, January 4th and at skilarchhills.ca/wp/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Public-Access-Distance.pdf for Sunday January 5th.
Thank you for your co-operation and understanding during this busy time.
Arwen’s Dream Opening Ski Tour
14 LHNS skiers gathered on Saturday morning Dec. 28 to ski Arwen’s Dream. Along the way we chatted about the journey (2016 – 2018) of planning and referring the proposal to our “neighboursâ€, to helpful government agency folks and to Tolko’s Industries staff and then developing the trail starting in mid-April 2019. Many LHNS club members contributed their skills, and support along the way. Thanks everyone! After the ski tour we gathered in the Chalet to chat and enjoy Deb’s home-baked treats and coffee. “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together.†– African proverb

If you, someone you’re with, or someone you come upon on the trails needs help in getting back to the chalet, or other help, you can call for assistance if
You have your cell phone with this number in it.
The caller may have to move location to be in cell range. See the on-trails posted cell reception maps and/or the LHNS Members 2019/20 Emergency Responders Contacts List with Cell Reception Map available free from the Sign Kiosk pamphlet box across from the Chalet’s main door.
You will hear a message redirecting you to call the number of either a LHNS Safety Host currently on the trails, or our Operations Manager at the Chalet – either of whom can get a snowmobile and safety equipment to where it is needed.
If there is no local LHNS person on site, you will be instructed to call 911. Their response could be from 60 to 90 minutes, or more.
There is no monitoring of this ER number and messages left at it will not be responded to.
