Dog Etiquette

Canine Trails and Etiquette

The dog-friendly trails at Larch Hills are a valued feature of our system. We recognize coming up here with your dog is a highlight of the winter season; We need your cooperation to ensure this remains a permanent option.

Please remember that bringing a pet to Larch Hills comes with the responsibilities to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for everyone.

  • All pet owners are strictly responsible for their dogs at all times!

  • Pets must not interfere with or cause discomfort to other trail users!

  • Failure to manage your pet according to LHNS guidelines impacts the experience of all visitors!

We ask all owners to be diligent, let’s all do our part.

Dog Rules

  • Dogs MUST be in control at all times, no matter where!

  • No dogs on any trails on Saturdays before 12pm or on race days.

  • Dogs must be on leash in parking lot and stadium.

  • Dogs on canine trails and snowshoe trails only.

  • Pick up after your dog.

  • The chalet is dog free.

  • A maximum of 2 dogs per skier/snowshoer.

Open Treasurer position on LHNS Board

Larch Hills Nordic Society is seeking a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Directors for a 2-year renewable term.

This role requires approximately 10–12 hours per month and focuses on financial oversight, governance, and compliance (with some day-to-day bookkeeping). Reasonable expenses are reimbursed.

Key highlights

  • Provide financial oversight and reporting to the Board

  • Help develop and monitor budgets and long-term financial planning

  • Ensure sound financial controls and CRA compliance

  • Work collaboratively with the Executive Director, staff, and external       accountants

Ideal candidates

  • Strong financial literacy (finance, accounting, bookkeeping, or business       background)

  • Able to explain financial information clearly

  • Nonprofit, board, or CRA reporting experience is an asset
