2021 12 16: Parking Strategy, Lighting Grand Opening, Ski Hosts
Larch Hills Nordic Officially Open
Saturday is the first day of the Jack Rabbit program, Ski Team will be practicing and we are celebrating the Grand Opening of the Lighted trails.
With the new snow this week, the trails are now packed and classic tracks are beginning to be set. With many skiers arriving at the hill we wish to remind you that efficient parking is important.
Here is a visual of how we can avoid double parking and boxing in other vehicles while at the hill. Please park in straight lines of 2 vehicles and ensure there is enough space between each ‘double’ row for cars to move safely in and out of parking spaces. There will be many families arriving for the first day of Jack Rabbits and if you can leave some space closer to the chalet for the ‘littles’ that would be appreciated. We already have over 1300 members registered and expect to have a full parking lot most weekends. Thank you for your cooperation.
Ski Hosts/Greeters Needed for Christmas Break
Larch Hills Nordic Society takes pride in providing Ski Hosts/Greeters for visitors to the hill both new and returning. In many previous years the club has John Henderson to thank for working hard at contacting and coordinating the many volunteers that helped out. The club is very appreciative of all of John’s dedication and now it is time for him to pass the torch.
The coverage is daily from 10 am – 4 pm from December 18 – January 3.
If any member is willing to be a smiling face to visitors during this time, please contact Karen at the Chalet office, email manager@skilarchhills.ca or call 236-586-5711. Hours are flexible and I am sure we can fit a shift in your schedules.
