Please be advised, that tobogganing is no longer permitted at Larch Hills. The LHNS Board voted for this new policy after multiple incidents involving injuries in recent weeks.
We are aware tobogganing is a fun winter activity and risky play should be encouraged in children. However our trails and the stadium areas are not properly set up for tobogganing/sledding. We have heavy machinery and skiers crossing through at any time of the day, as well as natural obstacles (trees, rocks,…), posing severe hazards.
Additionally, LHNS does not have a tobogganing agreement with BC Rec Site and Trails.
Please leave your toboggans and sleds at home. The safety of people on our trail system is our utmost priority.
Thank you for your cooperation. – Larch Hills Nordic Society –
