LARCH HILLS NORDIC SOCIETY
Dog Trails
Dogs (any size!) are NOT PERMITTED on Saturday mornings (before noon) and on race days.
Some of our Dog Friendly trails cross private land, made possible through the generosity of the landowner, who has provided both access and funding to help build the trail network. We are incredibly grateful for his support!
Lakeview and Townview are part of the Dog Friendly network. Skiing these trails out and back adds 4 km, bringing the total Dog Friendly trail distance to 10.1 km.

DOG TRAIL ACCESS
Dog owners are encouraged to park near the dog trail access on the west side of the parking lot. Non-members must sign in and pay the day-use fee at the dog trail entrance.
Dogs must be on a leash in the parking lot and in the stadium area but may be off leash on the trails. Dogs are also welcome on snowshoe trails and can be off leash but need to be under control crossing any ski trails. Dogs must be on leash if crossing the stadium to access snowshoe trails.
Dog Trail Etiquette
Trail Etiquette for Dogs & Their Humans
- Please keep your dog under control at all times.
- Your dog must be on leash in the designated parking area, stadium and on the way to the trail.
- Your dog may be off leash on the trail.
- A maximum of 2 dogs are allowed per skier or snowshoer.
- Please scoop the poop and remove it promptly from the trail surface. Shovels are available along the route or bring your own.
- Skiers with dogs must ski the far (Sentinel/Woodlot Ramble) loop in a counter clockwise direction only. The closer Infinity and Round the Shire trails can be skied in either direction. These loops are open in either direction to skiers without dogs.
- Use extreme caution on two-way sections of the trail and ski in control at all times.
- Walking or snowshoeing on ski trails is not allowed. Please use the snowshoe trails instead.
- Use the trails responsibly and be aware that access for dogs can be terminated for safety or other reasons at any time at the discretion of the executive.
- Walking your dog on dog “ski” trails is not permitted. You need to use skis. When using snowshoe trails and crossing a ski trail – have your dog on a leash; and do not step in the ski tracks. This is for everyone’s safety.
